At 18 I bought a citroen BX 16v, loved it. 160 BHP and was such an odd car. Met my wife in that car and years later she told me that she almost didn't carry on the relationship as she was so embarrassed by that car...hahaha....
Then at 19 I bought a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3, some car at 19 when all my pals were in novas and mk2 Astra's. Insurance was a killer though at £2400. Then had a pulsar GTIR at 20, another Evo and then onto imprezas at about 25. Not had anything else since and now 36.

Not at all.

To say it wasn't subtle would be an understatement.

My girlfriend hated it, my family hated it, the neighbours hated it.

Only the owner of my local petrol station loved it.

But I didn't care, I was living my inner Mad Max; cruising round in the last of the (wannabe-Supercharged) V8s in me black leather jacket, jeans and boots!

Little late to the party here!
My first fast-ish car was a G-reg Renault 5 turbo in 1998 when I was 18.
I didn't keep it long and had a few other hot hatches before ending up with a S1 RS turbo running close to 200hp. That was mental and would spin in every gear in the wet!
Regret selling it but sold that when I went to uni (too expensive to run, should have put it in storage!). I replaced it with a string of other hot hatches (205 GTI, Golf GTI, Caviler SRI).
My first properly fast car was in 2004 when I left uni, I bought an E36 M3 Evolution. Very, very fast car!
Had a few others before buying my first scooby in 2010, a 53 reg prodrive STi. Sold it to pay for my wedding and had a few run-arounds untill replacing it with an 04 WRX in 2012 running 290hp and kept that for 7 years.
Replaced that in Jan 19 with my current blob. This is definitely the fastest car I've owned pushing out 460hp!

Wish I had some pictures of all the old cars I've had but it was never something I thought of doing at the time.

I had a red Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi at 19. That got written off when a woman turned across me at traffic lights which was a sad day. Handled like a go-kart that one. Replaced that at 21 with a Citroen ZX 16v with 405 MI16 engine, 4 wheel steering etc then replaced that at 24 with my first 200+bhp car a Nissan 200SX S14 and rear wheel drive. Had a few scares in that I can tell you, wet drain covers were lethal!

It turned out my car never had the recall from Renault to put a fuse in the wiring that runs the perc fan lol, I’m there thinking the it was something turbo related somehow nope a new problem lol
