At 18 I bought a citroen BX 16v, loved it. 160 BHP and was such an odd car. Met my wife in that car and years later she told me that she almost didn't carry on the relationship as she was so embarrassed by that car...hahaha....
Then at 19 I bought a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 3, some car at 19 when all my pals were in novas and mk2 Astra's. Insurance was a killer though at £2400. Then had a pulsar GTIR at 20, another Evo and then onto imprezas at about 25. Not had anything else since and now 36.

matty that is some good history of cars you have there! Pulsar gtir at 20!!
hahahaha....really?.........did the ladies like it? Haha
Not at all.
To say it wasn't subtle would be an understatement.
My girlfriend hated it, my family hated it, the neighbours hated it.
Only the owner of my local petrol station loved it.
But I didn't care, I was living my inner Mad Max; cruising round in the last of the (wannabe-Supercharged) V8s in me black leather jacket, jeans and boots!

I would forget all of the cars in my list to own........A LOTUS CARLTON
Owned this when I was 25, a 7.5 litre 'shovel nose' Trans Am Firebird 455 HO.
It was stupid fast - but only in a straight line, in the dry when it would lay rubber in every traffic light GP.
In the wet, I'd get overtaken by milk floats and cyclists!
Just 1 more thing, I remember back in 98-99 there were 3 fellas by mine we looked upto as they had fast cars...1 had the cav gsi 4x4 In white And 2 had Astra gsis...they were absolutely mental at the time...1 Astra had the 5 red spoke alloys and the other had the standard alloys...Il get a picture up
hopefully il get to own an evo 6 as I have a soft spot for them in icelle blue. Would love a cossie but The prices are too much plus the parts are probably rare now and cost a bomb too
Little late to the party here!
My first fast-ish car was a G-reg Renault 5 turbo in 1998 when I was 18.
I didn't keep it long and had a few other hot hatches before ending up with a S1 RS turbo running close to 200hp. That was mental and would spin in every gear in the wet!
Regret selling it but sold that when I went to uni (too expensive to run, should have put it in storage!). I replaced it with a string of other hot hatches (205 GTI, Golf GTI, Caviler SRI).
My first properly fast car was in 2004 when I left uni, I bought an E36 M3 Evolution. Very, very fast car!
Had a few others before buying my first scooby in 2010, a 53 reg prodrive STi. Sold it to pay for my wedding and had a few run-arounds untill replacing it with an 04 WRX in 2012 running 290hp and kept that for 7 years.
Replaced that in Jan 19 with my current blob. This is definitely the fastest car I've owned pushing out 460hp!
Wish I had some pictures of all the old cars I've had but it was never something I thought of doing at the time.

welcome mate, hope all is good. Again a lot of lovely cars there, all the old classics of the 90’s
My car was relatively new at the time, but i never had much problems really a couple of clutch cables Snapping on me and a petrol tank leak but apart from that both cars was spot on,my wife’s car was sold and the **** that bought it wrote it off in 2 months,my one is still going strong sold to my mate and he has taken good care of it.SJ.
I had a red Peugeot 205 1.9 GTi at 19. That got written off when a woman turned across me at traffic lights which was a sad day. Handled like a go-kart that one. Replaced that at 21 with a Citroen ZX 16v with 405 MI16 engine, 4 wheel steering etc then replaced that at 24 with my first 200+bhp car a Nissan 200SX S14 and rear wheel drive. Had a few scares in that I can tell you, wet drain covers were lethal!
First Fast ish car was the fiat coupe 20v turbo 5cyl - That thing was weird, green, and had the most awfull turning circle. I then saw the light and went Jap with a V6 FTO GR manual converted ( most were craptronic).
Had two of them His and Hers,My first ever step Into turbo power, that's why the R5GTT holds a special place in my heart...
Mine
Wife's
I can't really say that i regretted selling up though,Because as much as we both loved the cars....We both upgraded to Subaru's.SJ.
Me too I loved them growing up and still do, they look in loverly and in nice condition! Didn’t see many in red all my mates that had them had white ones and the odd grey one lol, I bought a evo 3 gsr next and I couldn’t believe how capable it was!

you did well then I had afew problems lol, once I had a new stage one turbo technics turbo fitted I went to work was chatting to my mate and the car caught fire briefly in front of us! It turned out my car never had the recall from Renault to put a fuse in the wiring that runs the perc fan lol, I’m there thinking the it was something turbo related somehow nope a new problem lol
