So I've had my 08 Hatch around 3 months now, and I'm noticing it seems to have everything that came with the 330S (besides the badge being missing). Is there an easy way to tell on these models whether it's legitimately a 330S or not?

very easy to swap the parts over as they are all just bolt on's, also the 330's were registered as such so would be on the V5, that will be the way to tell

That was my thinking RE the V5, will check and might just give Subaru a call but I think you're right, it's not one.

go to Opie Oils put your reg in and it will tell you. Mine is a 330s and it comes up as one.

Most likely.
The MY09 would have arrived in the UK very late 2008 and the 330S was "reviewed" in March 2009...........

V5 says 330s.

you may have a Euro Import if it's 'like' a 330s.
But Euro import won't have the ss Prodrive quad 3.5" back box.. obviously hasn't he the 325bhp map by Prodrive.
Euro import had the BBS alloys (which were an optional extra in the UK).


330s has as Standard
18" alloys
heated wiper element on the front screen
Recaro seats (same as MY11 cars)
SatNav DVD (Kenwood)
Push button start/keyless entry
Prodrive back box
Prodrive map 330ps (325bhp)
Rear tints

they're all MY08 cars really

MY11 had the face lift, recaros etc
But No 330s was on a MY11- as 330s are all MY08 cars

So what model year (MY) is yours Salsa ?? MY is determined by the tenth character of the VIN(8=2008; 9=2009;A=2010) or the 4th letter of the Applied model code(A=2008;B=2009; C=2010)

Without popping the bonnet I'd say MY08
As it's first registered end Jan 2009.


I know what you say about the model code letter.
But I meant style they'll all be MY08's

As the main change being the MY11.

No 330s was on that, that I know of.

looking at the 5th photo down the car has the BBS alloys that were on euro import cars (although they were an optional extra over here too)
the yours had the 330s alloys fitted at some point.... maybe to make it look like a 330s?

As long as you know it's an import and it's not been sold to you as a 330s.. i wouldn't worry.

Just for completeness.....

Only Subaru UK can tell you that for sure, as the applied model code is the same as a std Hatch.
However the option code "CJ" tells you the 330S extras are fitted.
