Audio Upgrade
Anyone got a quick lost for what I need to upgrade my audio...DIY...
Currently have a pioneer head unit..which only seems to power the front speakers..as it sounds ****.
I am thinking
6.5" components - wanted something decent, loud and clear
4" rear speakers..for the times I have people in the back
10" sub
5 channel amp
Is there an audio processor needed? If so which one works on a budget.
Any ideas o how to install - any guides?

Thanks

Halfords do a sony cd player , it works very well , it’s about 120£ it has bluetooth built in 55wx4 , then add a base speaker , then see if you want to do the door speakers , the door speakers are limited by depth due to window glass , but you can get upgrades on ebay for about 30£ for a front set and around that for a rear set

My setup of choice would be:
Android double din quad core 4gb head unit ( max 200 new, could probably be had for 100 second hand, must be a quad core 4gb unit tho)
Alpine 4 channel amp (120ish)
Focal front and rear component speakers (6.5s for the front and 5.5 for rear iirc, both around 100-150 last time I looked )
Under seat sub (100+ depending on makes and quality etc...)
Pretty decent setup tbh, for a better listening experience you'd want to add some dynomat but that's adding more weight lol

You only really need the front speakers and a sub, no need for rears speakers. You can run the lot with either a 4 channel amp or a 2 channel for the comps and a mono amp for the sub but that takes up more space.
comps you can fit 6-1/2” no problem.
Plenty to choose from but I’d avoid Halfords etc. For amps best to try and pick up something 2nd hand from say genesis, Audison, DLS, Phoenix gold, Rockford etc. Some of the older amps are really nice but can get issues with capacitors leaking etc. I’m not that clued up on the latest stuff but think some of the compact stuff is pretty impressive these days.
car audio direct were really good for stuff years back and probably still are. talkaudio was the forum but not been on it for a good while either.
im planning a garage clear out soon. if you’re still looking let me know as I’ve quite a bit of good quality car audio I’m going to be putting on eBay.

Halfords are currently doing a set of 6.5 components that are getting great views and they have discounted them right down to £42. They'll never compete with a set of £250 Rainbows etc but they certainly can't be worse than the alpines I recently put in the front doors and will be taking straight back out again. I just bought a pair of the Vibes for my install so we'll see. Model is Vibe Slick 6c v7.
I know its Halfords and I know it sounds cheap but I have read tonnes of reviews from various facebook audio groups and people are loving them.
