Buying advice: Impreza/Legacy 2L LPG
Hi all,
I am a new user and hopefully will soon have a Subby
I am based in Italy, Subaru here made the EJ20 engine with LPG option, which is extremely economical and still a lot of fun. I've never owned a Subaru but I like them a lot: my father has a Legacy 2L LPG which is not very refined, but a perfect car for the mountains in winter. Subarus are not very common here, and the uniqueness factor is indeed attractive.
Thus I am considering to purchase a 2 liter (150hp) Impreza (hatchback) or Legacy (wagon) from about 2010. They can be found for relatively cheap and they look like a lot of car for the money.
Any suggestion on what to look for? Common faults or weak spots?
I know for example the EJ20 LPG engine in the Legacy needs a massive maintenance job at 105000km (~60k miles), in which the engine is partially removed from the bay. Anything else?
Thanks in advance!

rust mainly , bottom end rattle , plus i heard lpg wears out valve seats more quickly so just check it’s running smoothly , they are generally very reliable , the 2 litre is stronger than a 2.5 , check for air bubbles in expansion tank plus any gunge in the oil signs of over heating or hg issues , i’m assuming yours is non turbo so less stressed engine any way

Yep, 2L n/a engine, I want something as reliable as possible, engine-wise.
What do you mean as HG issue?

On my dad's legacy we have this 2.5k rpm resonance... but I think it's just some metal rattling, hopefully nothing bad.
