Default Price on paint for hatch doors

I’m just wondering what sort of cash A friend would be paying to have 2 doors rubbed down
and re sprayed, he was quoted £600 for two doors seemed alittle ott to me so thought I’d ask about

its silver metalic on a 08 hatch and he needs both passenger front and rear door re painting as look like they have been done before
but it’s to a poor standard..

Also im based in Surrey so any recommendation would be great.

Thanks, CSF

£600 isn't too bad. Most places around here charge a flat rate of £250 per panel. Silver is an extremely hard colour to get a perfect match on. You could find somewhere that will probably do it cheaper, but then you run the risk of the paint match being off slightly.

£600 is cheap. realistically the whole side of car should be done and blended to give a deter overall match. If only the doors are being done then you will never get 100% match

Over priced to me I've just been quoted £120 for a door. And its a two tone blue.

He charges £120 per panel and has proper enclosed spraying booth. Guess it depends on the company.

One spraying place quoted me £1000 for replacing wheel arch other place £500. Plus are to area will take it to account. Plus how long they been going for etc some just don't need the work and so busy.

Although one near me was very over priced, but most of there work was off insurance companies.

I guess for the £600 he will rub down and paint the doors as well as any blending on the
rear and front panels that’s needed, he will do a good job just with not been in that particular
trade I wanted to gain a idea of what it would cost before he goes for it... .

I was thinking of been on the look out for 2 used doors in good condition but like hens teeth but a much
cheeper way of doing it if you can find them and at the right price.

MB Developments break a load of Newage cars on here and are seem to be well regarded... would be worth asking him if he has or knows of any hatches being broken?

£600 seems a little much, would expect the whole bodyside to be done for that in my opinion.
