Just wondering, as since the new rules were brought in (visual of a cat if it's supposed to be there), it's now impossible to get an MoT for a decatted car here.

does this apply to imports?? I thought that it may only apply to vehicles where the cat was 'supposed' to be there to meet UK regs.

I got an advisory - age related emissions test [no cat fitted]
BUT it’s a 93 import.

What is the situation with regards to insurance should you have an accident with no CAT fitted and therefore your car being an MoT failure?

Valid point but think they would be more concerned about the cause of the accident. Unless that is something got sucked up the exhaust

I'm just thinking of excuses not to pay out if the car was ever inspected post accident.

so just tell the insurance you have exhaust mods and or no cats , then you are covered , the insurance company is not there to look at your emissions , my bump they have not even looked at the car , the bump was not my fault , but i’m of the opinion always declare mods
