Default Radiator mounting

I have a Classic Turbo 2000 Wagon registered in Jan 2000. It has air con.

I'm trying to find a replacement radiator. The gap between the mounting points on my radiator is 19 inches. I can only find them with a gap of 21 inches and am told "this radiator will fit all imprezas".

I can't be the only one with this issue.

I'm not keen on having to modify anything myself unless it's relatively straightforward.

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

Coolant rad, or aircon rad?

My coolant rad came from a local guy, £64 guaranteed two years, and he threw in a couple of decent pipe clips. It's on a 2.5 forged engine running 400+/400+ and is fine.

Where are you measuring?

Coolant rad. The distance is the same between the pins at the bottom and the holes in the top of the rad where the brackets attach.

The top bracket is removable anyway and fastens to the actual rad by M6 x 16mm bolts. Mine were seized, so removed by mole grips from the inside, once the heads had sheared off. I then replaced them all with stainless from Screwfix.
