Classic error 22 and 11
Hi guys
The check engine light has come on so decided to park the car up and check. It turns out it is code 22 and 11 after doing the diagnostic check by connecting the two plugs under the dash/steering wheel.
Car is a my99 and from what I can tell it is the knock sensor and crank position sensor that need changing. Had a google search and it seems that the maf can also cause the fault.
Just trying to find the sensors not including the maf and it seems to be about £150 but there are different ones. Assuming you have to go oem with them or can you get the other makes as well.

Thanks mate I checked it out on scoobypedia prior to posting
Started car and no check engine light, drove a bit and it came on then went off
What do you guys use to clean the contacts might try that because it seems really strange that both sensors need changing.
If that doesn't work anyone know the best place to get them from.

Thanks guys
Did have a look on ICP but there were a few different options. Don do you work at Subaru parts or something.
Is it worth trying to clean the contacts and is genuine the only way with them. Just thought it is worth double checking because have found other places selling them at £12 but not sure if they are genuine.
Also is ICP the cheapest. I know with somethings they are really well priced while other times they are very expensive.

You can try and clean the contacts on the plugs and check wiring, taking out the crank sensor and giving it a clean, take off the knock sensor and give it a clean plus clean where the knock sensor sits on the block. All worth a go before you buy new,but more than likely you will need new sensors.
IMO you should always buy the correct oem when it comes to sensors.
You could try alyn at ASPerformance,he stocks most things Subaru and more, you will have to pick up the phone and speak to him

Completely forgot alyn at ASPerformance lol
Was speaking to Matty mainly about something else, he had my car in when I was getting some work sorted and mentioned the sensor on it looks like it had a repair job previously.
So think I will try and get hold of another knock sensor. Is everyone in agreement that they have to be torqued up properly or they will crack.
