Default new car, Impreza RX 2008 petrol 2.0

Hi there, just bought my first ever Subaru, a car I've always wanted, it's a 2008 Impreza RX petrol 2.0. Looking for advice on anything I can do to improve the cars performance and get the best from it, also any advice on good servicing of it. Any help would be appreciated, cheers, Ross.

Ross welcome.

The NA Subaru's need extensive work to make them go better. Sadly the AWD and weight of the car will see you struggling against much smaller 2WD cars. Make it breath better with a good air filter, proper tyres, brakes and suspension will see you getting the power transferred to the road.

That being said the sure footed-ness and AWD make a good chassis for difficult driving conditions that would see RWD and FWD struggling. Especially in Thistle Muncher Land.

Welcome to the club, any pictures? Think the 2.0 RX is 147 bhp standard. You should be able to get it to 170bhp, as has been said full exhaust change and air filter change, then a remap should get you there. But you will struggle to get much more without lots of money.

Best just enjoy it and save for a WRX or STI.

Ok cheers will look into them things, I didn't think I would get too much more out of it, as you say I just need to save and get myself a wrx or Sti, I've been dying to get an Impreza and the price for me to insure a wrx or Sti was the same amount of money as my budget for a car haha it'll do for now, still be a big change only ever had 1.2 and 1.4 before,

Very nice mate, not into the hatch backs at all, but looks nice from the front, while suits it. It won't be long before you start buying STI WRX extra's
