The whole system holds 7.2 litres, but you'll probably end up only getting about 4-5 litres in, the rest doesn't drain.

As far as what, just go to a decent motor factors and buy stuff suitable for an alloy engine, with corrosion inhibitor...most are these days.

DO however, PLEASE DO a search, under my name, for how to drain and refill without airlocking...or your next post is likely to be, "How do I get rid of an airlock", (there is no known way), or even, "Have my head gaskets gone?"

When I last did my coolant I got the extra out by running engine for 10 seconds , naughty but it pushed out the litre or so I wanted out

For a 99 classic I'm sure you can use the Blue glycol stuff , I think from about 2002 onwards you need to use the OAT stuff

Oooooh.

How much did you get in?

Because you aren't supposed to mix the two types.

Not sure OAT is correct for a 99 car, it foams up as the engine metals react with it hence you need glycol stuff
