Has anyone any idea of what duty-taxes-vat I would end up paying to get a $1,250 Nameless Performance Exhaust system from America to sunny Yorkshire

20% vat i think plus the courier usually charges £12 to £13 pounds to send you a letter to say its in the country and for the import duty money

they'll be 20% vat on the price of the good and postage.
+ find the correct commodity code for your order.. look here
https://www.gov.uk/finding-commodity-codes
find teh code then ring and check with HMRC you have the correct one. That will then tell you what % rate you pay on the import duty. having it means you want be over charged, just make sure those shipping it put it on the invoice and box!!

I found the correct one when I imported from Japanparts for my rear R205 defusser
think it was only 3.5%

Oh, depending who it's posted by.. Royal mail may charge you their handling fee

Plus don't for get courier fees for also dealing with import duty, some companies are naughty though and do not declare the real value, i ordered from one company and they asked me what i wanted put on the Import form lol I told them the value of the goods.

Vat and Import Duty, think import duty is between 5% and 7% if you down value the goods it keeps costs down but you run the risk that if the goods are damage you can only claim back what you declared, you need to weigh it all up

Any time I've had bits imported, I ask the seller to mark it as a gift to save myself the import duty. Worked 99% of the time for me!

Cant fault funkypower mate, I ordered the invidia system last Tuesday afternoon and it came from the states, I have the ups tracking info for it to be delivered to me tomorrow!.

Also when I imported some perrin intake parts from SubiSpeed in the states I didn't pay any added vat or import duty just 20 odd quid to parcel force for letter to say I owe them 20 odd quid before it can be delivered !!
