Default 500bhp quiet (ish) exhaust options

I have a Customer who is looking for an exhaust for His RB320, the spec is to get to around 500bhp, but He is looking for an exhaust that won't blow his ear drums apart!
Any advice please.
Andy

heard good things about these.

I actually run a Jap speed 3" unit, have done for years and it's done really well. pulls 89db on my 550+ classic

I have a Fujitsubo titanium exhaust. Sounds great and it's pretty quiet

Revo is good quality but if he really does not want to cut corner he could get one custom made from these guys:

The design of the tail pipe makes a massive difference how the final exhaust sounds. Get an inward rolled end to quieten things down and MUST run a resonated centre section.

I have a full 3" with no resonators at all with a milltek back box, and it's fairly quiet on Tickover but can get quite noisy on full chat, but it's the sound quality that's great with these.
Regards to quality, milltek tend to corrode over time but apart from that, I've always liked the sound. Not too chavvy

The Revolution system is from Jetex. Very good quality, we've ran the 3 inch Newage system to 723bhp and yet it's still very quiet on the move.

Its down to the back box

I had a 3in Cobra with a 5in back box Harvey stuck on.

At high revs on the track, on the Autobahn on the overrun it sounded beyond awesome. General driving at low revs it was a noisy droney nightmare. So eventually something had to change.

So what I did is kept the center section and downpipe and I got a back box custom made. It is 3inch straight through so a 3inch exit pipe diameter with a big silencer on it.

It sounds no way as good as the full Cobra system on full chat. But is very quiet and means I can get through any sound check on any track.

So that is an alternative. Stick any bargain 3in system you can lay your hands on and then spend 200-300 pounds/or do it yourself to fabricate the back box.

Cheers
Steve

Another vote for a revolution exhaust , can be made to go as low as 84db @3/4 throttle with a 3" down turned tip and a 6" round and 220mm silencer added in the middle with no affect on flow

I find milltek is the quietest exhaust I have heard on a scooby, no nasty drone either.

When you guys speak of the revolution exhaust, are you referring to this one?

And is it really quiet? Considering it has a non res center?

As my post above, I used to get up for work at 3am and Never felt too guilty and it was no more annoying than another woman up the street who got up half an hour earlier than me and left her sprinter van running. Mine is decat turbo back and only has the back box. If you want super quiet then what's the point of having 500hp scoob? The revolution is a good exhaust and I'm happy to use it daily.

As luck would have it i managed to get a hold of one of these systems off of a guy on Facebook yesterday afternoon. Fitted it last night and just drove i to work this morning.

Really happy with the noise level and sound, highly recommend to anyone after a 3" decat system that's on the quieter side of the spectrum.
