MY08 STI secondary air pump
It sounds like its on its way out with an intermittent noisy whine. I'm going to let it throw up an EML before I do anything about it but just wondering what my options are?
From what I can gather there are 3 routes I can go down:-
1. New pump (expensive)
2. Try to source some bearings and rebuild the current one. (ballache??)
3. Blank it off and have it mapped out. This also removes the potential for the solenoids failing later on.
Does anyone have any alternatives that I haven't thought about or pro/cons of the above? Also, if I decide to remove and blank it off who can map it out in the Northwest area?
Cheers
Andy.

doubt you'll get bearings for it as they are plastic.
I ditched mine when I had the hatch as it made my engine bay look messy. its sat in my garage if you after a good used replacement.
either that or remove the whole lot and get the codes mapped out like you mentioned
