Cost me £60 with invoice for compression and not good news been sold a dud car low compression on number 2, reading was 30 the rest were 110

Rebuild was recommended but I can't afford that so it's now up for sale!

That's a $h!tter mate. Where & when did you buy it? What model is it? Maybe you could consider an engine replacement from the guys there? Might work out cheaper than a rebuild?
I'm off there tomorrow for some bits

How long have you owned it for? As long as they're a trade they have to by law give you some sort of warranty usually 3 months. I would get some advice if it's within the 3 month period. I'd also get in touch with trading standards.
Unfortunately as it is your car won't be worth much & will be much harder to sell. Good luck with it mate. Feel for you.

Just be careful on the search function. Most of their praise is because of Matty.

Matty has now moved on.

He is still a trader on here but under mbdevelopments. You might want to ping him a PM as I'm sure with his vast amount of knowledge he'll be able to help you and point you in the right direction.

Does it crank evenly? With compression that low I'd expect you to be able to hear bop, bop, bop, whoosh (if that makes sense) as one of the pistons has no compression. Is the hawk the same DBW as the hatch, if you hold the throttle to the floor and crank it won't fire? You'll be able to hear the crank then and see if you notice anything amiss.

Get trading standards involved? As above i personally would buy a cheap run about and get it sorted. I can understand tho why you disheartened after a short period. Did you suspect an issue that made you take it for check?

I dont understand why you are rolling over and accepting the situation without putting up a fight.
