Default remap

a car I have bought a week ago has been re- mapped at scoobyclinic back in 2007...its since been remapped 3 months ago at surrey rolling road....im taking it back to scoobyclinic in 2 weeks for a map tweak to sort the idle out...what prices am I looking at? will I get charged for a brand new map as scoobyclinics isn't the most recent? thanks....its a 2004 sti with syvecs ecu.

I'd imagine £300 plus dyno time plus vat.
Pat won't tweak someone else's map I shouldn't think.

I spoke to them last week and if it has the licence then £350 and if not then £550. It is + vat though. That was for standard Ecu

Does it really need a re map for rough idle?
Probably not.

if stopped at lights or anything like that sometimes it will cut out,its more annoying than anything...I thought a little 100-150 quid would sort it....500ish seems abit extreme for what it is

im just going off what previous owner told me...he had it on the rolling road in surrey and if I waited a week he would've got it sorted himself but me being eager i just wanted it now....when I stop or come to lights its fine most the time if the revs drop I just slightly blip it its fine but I want it perfect

stalling is usually a vac leak or knackered aftermarket dump valve, not a £500 fix.

Its truly scary that you'd drive from Liverpool to Surrey just to sort this kind of issue.

Any why ask on here what scoobyclinic are going to charge you when you've already got it booked in? Surely you asked them the price?

You said the previous owner had it mapped at srr 3 months ago. So if it was a mapping issue causing the idle issue why did he not take it back to the mapper in those 3 months ??

I doubt it's a mapping issue to be honest. Book the car in with a specialist who's local'ish to you and have the issue looked into. If it does prove to be a mapping issue then you can plan your next step.
