It's polite to say hello
How often should you expect others road users with similar (not even the same) cars to say hello. Naturally we salute other scooby users, but this morning I had a thumbs up from an Evo and it would seem that generally you get a wave from anyone in a Japanese turbo car.....

I saw an Evo driver the other day, in sliver Evo 3 i think, we just glared at each other.
I find only classic drivers put there hand up to you, unless your driving a sport they ignore you, only odd Newage Impreza's put there hand up, and no hatches bother at all.
Which i'm really glad
Impreza's i ignore, stickered up messes, i completely blank them

Being 21 and my previous two cars being 15 year old BMW's, i've gotten use to everyone presuming you're a d**k. Owned the 05 STI for 2 weeks now and last Saturday on a run I had another Subaru driver give me a thumbs up. It felt so strange being acknowledged and was a really nice little gesture of appreciation. 20 minutes later saw a lovely classic and we preceded to give each other a nice nod of approval!

It's when your passenger turns and looks at you like you are a total idiot and asks "really?" That you start to feel a bit ridiculous lol

No the most daft is when you have driven Scoobies for literally years and then you finally change to something else and for the first 6 months you keep waving to Scoobs and getting a bemused look from the driver wondering why someone in a massive Jag just waved at them

Lots of scoobies round my way return the gesture, be it a nod, thumbs up, wave, flash of headlights etc. and that's across all models of impreza.

I love it.
Always puts a little smile on my face.
Was pooling down the motorway yesterday when a classic came up behind me and gave me a wave, so I waved back and sped up so we could drive in convoy for about 20miles

And it is your duty to put your foot down and A) show the other guy what your car can do and B) satisfy their urge of seeing a turbo charged car caining it, lol

Must admit I've never done the wave thing. My girlfriend wet herself when I explained why someone in a similar car waved at me. She spots an Impreza now and starts laughing saying "come on wave" to me.
Worst one is riding a motorcycle, be bikes everywhere certain days and you get that sideways nod.
Be like waking down the street waving at everyone wearing Nike trainers!
