Default Getting rid of smokers smell

Got a loan car (from the garage I purchased my Scooby from) while my engine gets rebuilt and it's clearly a trade in they've lent me (not that I'm complaining, it's free!) but it stinks of smoke and I'd like some advice on what I can do to remove the smell.

Don't want to go the valeting route as it's not mine and I'm saving my pennies for the scoob but if there is a product or 2 that people recommend I'll gladly give them a go as it'll be my daily driver for the next 4-8 weeks

TIA

Ian

Smell will never 100% go unless you clean all the headlinings and everything .

Best bet is to take up smoking

I left mine with windows, doors and sunroof open all day. On my locked driveway of course. Worked a treat

Cheers guys, gonna try the bi-carb route this weekend with febreeze as a backup. I'm assuming I'd need to febreeze the headlining too?

If you have access to a steam cleaner, then this guide may help.

Just to warn you, if you go down the cleaning route, it can make things worse for a while because the layers of old smell will be buried in the fabric, which you unlock as you clean away the top layer and it gets worse.

I remember a Mk2 Golf 16v I bought from an Asian chap in Birmingham, without wanting to sound too stereotypal, it smelt heavily of curry. My brother and I removed all the interior, steamed it, foam cleaned it, scrubbed the headlining, carpets, spent a day on it...put it all back in , and within two days the smell had remerged and worse.

Curry and foam cleaner hybrid mix, was not pleasant.

After a year of owning the car, I sold it, and it still smelt. He seriously must of been doing his families cooking in the boot or something.

Just nearly fell off my chair at that one.

I know what you mean though, I used to work in a fish processing factory when I left school, didn't matter how long you soaked in the bath you couldn't get rid of the smell. Gets under the skin and comes out of the pores as soon as you sweat.
