JDM STI or JDM Spec C (Both Blob)
Sadly for various reasons looks like the insurance company are going to write off my blob JDM STI. I use it as a daily drive as I don't drink or smoke so the fuel is my luxury. This was my second scoob and I've again loved every minute of it.
I'm now looking to replace the car with either a the JDM STI or JDM Spec C.
Ideally looking for experience of driving both for pro's and cons rather then opinions based on zero experience.
My main concern is that as a family car 1Yr old and partner too. That the Spec C may be too harsh for a daily drive.
Any support on this is much appreciated.

Thanks mate. My first was a hawk Wagon effectively turned into STI with 350bhp full 6 speed conversion, brembos etc etc. Very much enjoyed both cars, however the JDM has been awesome and just wondered what to do next. has yours got the air con and window winders or got the extra's pack with air con and elec windows?

yes it's got the smaller air con unit and electric windows
mine might be a bit harsh as it's polly bushed and running AST's and I like a firm ride
but can alway put to soft on weekends with kids in :-)

Orite fella, well I haven't been in a spec c but have a hawk jdm T20. For me and my needs the jdm suits me down to the ground. I also have mine poly bushed and running AST's which does give it a very firm ride. Some of the benefits I find by having the jdm is a few more creature comforts with it such as sound proofing (still even on a long drive it can give you a bit of a bad head) and also has a bigger tank.
Jdm's compared to a spec c are heavier ect so I suppose its all down to what you want it for really. In a certain way if you did have something like a T20 you got abit of both worlds where its already got the uprated suspension ect but then most jdm's even uk's have been modded one way or another where as a spec c I find people tend to keep them they way they are apart from a few nice subtle mods
In my eyes if I was to be doing a few track days a year then I would of gone for a spec c as its more focused car for the job, but the jdm is not going to be not slouch around a track and I imagine it will handle it really (plan on doing my first track day soon)
Looking at it from your point of view I would say a jdm especially as it would be a daily drive, so would be a touch less harsh on you ( all depends on how far you got to drive for work ect I suppose) and with a young family its a touch less harsh on them I guess.
Well hope this has helped you in some way mate.

Ive got Teins with EDFC on my current blob JDM which will possibly be removed and fitted depending on what I get next so know what you mean about the ride of them. Handles very well.
Sound on this one was awful initially. Had a Blitz NUR spec and decat, horrific drone!
Much better now HKS fitted
