Default Turbo needed :-)

Hi guys anyone have any advice on what turbo to go to for 400bhp I have a blob sti ej20 04 type uk the current mods are, full decat system, uprated pump, fmic, fpr, alcatek ecu mapped by JGM, I like the look of the md's and the sc turbos but they're pricey new and hard to come by second hand. Or does anyone know of a cheaper alternative
Cheers guys

Few standard position GT30's floating about, or contact engine tuner about the T36, works out cheaper than the 2 you mention.

The t36 is proving some awesome results at the moment. As for the price i just paid above £900 + VAT. If you look at turbo technics website you'll see the best supplier is Alan Jeffery at enginetuner.

Alan and Martyn have both told me that they provide them with the very best service and are always on call.

They have plans to upgrade the t36 soon and have already suggested they'll do a quick turnaround service for existing owners for around the £200 mark.

T36 about to go on my type r, otherwise i'd be keeping my gt3071r but the t36 has done 500 miles and is still under warranty so makes sense to use it.

AFP 20g, now with a billet wheel so making 400bhp.

looking for a turbo with a bit more bhp, earlier spool and without the hefty price tag of a 321H or sc420

Not on the same car Tidgy, as discussed before it's a bit of an ask unless someone else is paying for it.
That said we've mapped plenty of SC42s on cars with a similar spec and there isn't much in it either way, except the £500 difference in price of course
They're both excellent turbos so you pays your money and takes your choice.
