Good read )) sorry no experience with bc however by doing a lot of reading I was told coilovers for a daily is not an option I can dig up a thread about kybs with eibachs and some correctly set up alignment would make your daily drive like a treat...

Harshness could also be due to bushes, have you got polybush all round perhaps?

I'm sure some one more knowledgeble will come along and assist

The reputable garage that fitted the coilovers, did they do a thorough check of all the other suspension parts on the car ??

With all due respect I think you are looking in the wrong place. The coilovers are new and the gaps are the same as before so the coilovers aren't the issue. I would start very carefully looking at where they are bolting to. Something somewhere is out of whack and badly so by the sounds of it. I wouldn't be driving it like that personally. I looks wrong, it feels wrong... it must be wrong!

Totally agre wit F1 Fan as above.

I have a 2005 Hawk WRX on Bc BR's with 18" XXR's.

People will say I have the ****est combination possible to man, and cheap crap, however I do 500 miles a week at least as my daily drive and I have no issues with handling or comfort at all.

Currently 13 clicks from softest.

Something is not right and it's not the coil overs or wheels

I don't have any sort of answer as to why the car is still bouncy but just thought id say:
I have BC racing Coilovers fitted to my 2002 STI, 18" alloys with 225/40/18 and the ride isn't uncomfortable at all.. Well, maybe when you hit a small pothole driving along but thats to be expected lol.
Hope you find whats wrong with it.

Matthew.

Do you think it's worth putting the car on a jig and seeing if the chassis is still straight? If you're seeing that much difference in ride height with correctly setup new shocks, I'd guess that it's either that, or a badly damaged suspension component (subframe, bushes, lower arm, trackrod, etc).

Don't rate BC's at all, been out in a few cars with em on and always found the ride hard and crashy. Also i dont rate the quality of them. I know tubbs, even though hes a troll, did have them on his and sacked em off he hated them that much.

My dads got tein super streets and they are good, not too hard yet handels well on em. Pedders full kits seem to be getting good reviews.

You want standard WRX struts and PCA Dynamics springs, just fitted a set of the springs to my Blob wagon and the ride is ever so slightly firmer but still soaks up the bumps pretty well, but the handling has been transformed in the twisty bits, even in the cold and wet winter conditions I'm taking corners faster than I was in the dry in summer with my old standard springs, all the roll and wobbly weight transfer I was experiencing has gone, can't wait to get some nice sticky summer rubber on in the warm and dry.

P.S I have also added a Cusco roll bar brace on the rear and adjusted my previously quite aggressive camber setting. I have polly bushes front and rear as well as on the steering rack, and camber bolts all round, just need some more caster (which will be taken care of via some classic Alloy wish bones) and it will be perfect.

Scoobyclinic have been supplying it for a while now, seems to be getting the thumbs up from the owners with them fitted.

Yeah KYB's work as well but you'll need to have a word with Peter @ PCA Dynamics as to which ones are suitable, these are made by Eibach but with input from Peter who is EX Prodrive, mine are Wagon specific but there are also some for Saloons too, look in the group buys section at either of the threads for the Prodrive springs for his contact details, everyone seems to agree that these are the best available, which is why I went for a set and I'm certainly not disappointed.

he is a tracking troll (falkens, standard pads, morrisons fuel on tracks)not suspension guru, some change ast for bc's and rate them high
which bc's You bought-spring rate
You will find harsh ride with bc's if You leave other old suspension components like drop links ,roll centre kit etc( thats why other car could be nicer to drive)
crashy front will improve after roll centre kit
rear will be a lot better with rubber top mounts
other car probably has alk kit which could lead to front arch gap difference(im not sure that) but You can easy set up gap like should be without pre-settings touch
i will add billet aluminium engine mount to for nicer drive
im on stretched f1 on xxr's 527 and no complains at all -even in easter Europe

amazingly not everything he says is a troll, i've met him in real life and he doesn't have green skin

From the mods you say are on yours I expect your car is very crashy/hard ride, you just don't realise it.
