Default Can anyone tell me...?

So I've been looking for a decent classic turbo for a while and ended up buying one yesterday it's a clean good looking car (apart from the big spoiler and bonnet vent) drives perfect. Loads of history etc I'm really happy with it I'm just not sure exactly what it is? Specific model or anything? On advert it said import with uk spec? It's a w reg, sonic blue in colour. I'll try and post a pic.

The 7 digit "applied model" code found on the vehicle identification plate inside the engine bay is decoded in the following way.
1.Series code G=Impreza S=Forester B=Legacy etc.
2.Body type F=Wagon C=Sedan
3.Engine type 8=2.0L Turbo
4.Year code A=MY93 B=MY94 C=MY95&96 D=MY97 (facelift) E=MY98 F=MY99 G=MY00
5.Number of doors 2=2 door coupe 4=4 door saloon 5=5 door wagon/hatch
6.Model type 8=WRX 7=RA type E=Sti D=Sti Type R & RA
7.Transmission D=5 Speed Manual AWD P=4 Speed Automatic AWD

This is what I have in my database.

How do you know it's decent if you don't know anything about the car?

I'd rather be a smartass than a dumbass!

He could be a better car mechanic and fabricator than most on here. I would rather someone with good mechanical sympathy buy a car with no knowledge of Subarus than someone who knows nothing about engines etc but is a Subaru forum fact geek buy one.

Just saying

Yeah but he's not is he? a person of those trades are intelligent folk, they would find out the correct information before purchase.

I thought these pages were for friendly help and advice? there absolutely no need for cheeky comments imo. like i said it's a good clean car that runs perfect loads of history. No I'm not a mechanic but I did take a good one with me and the car was well checked over I loved the car so pretty much took it there and then I would have bought it regardless of it being uk or import, I simply asked if anyone on here could tell me anymore or how to check exactly what it was. But hey just a dumb blonde at the end of the day! Thanks again though for the HELPFUL comments that some people did leave 👍
