Where to look - boost controllers - advice needed!
Hi All!
I have a Classic 2000 STI, runs great! I will get some pictures up later.
Its currently boosting around 1 bar - I assume this is standard and putting out at a guess 270bhp? - Whatever the standard is for these beasties. It feels nippy
I have read lots of threads on this forum that its safe to push them up to around the 350ish mark.
My question is.. I want to do this as cheap as possible as its my daily driver (my weekend car is something else that has no place being mentioned here!). What I want to do is install a mechanical boost controller. Can anyone direct me to someone in hampshire area that can help, or tell me what I would be looking for? I am assuming increasing boost from 1 to 1.2 bar would be relatively safe?
Thanks for any advice!

276bhp is the official figure although most car manufacturers lied.
Your car will need an Ecutek remap or a standalone ecu (both aren't cheap)
Go for an electronic boost controller (and get it set up properly) rather than a mechanical one although a proper remap is a safer way to go.
Duncan (aka Racedynamix) maps from near Hampshire http://www.racedynamix.co.uk/remap/

I believe it's the year 2000 STI - it has all the trimmings for an STI - classic shape. it has been de-badged by the previous owner. is there a way to tell from a vin number or other identifying numbers?
