Japspeed or cobra ?
Hi, looking for people's advice/experiences on the mentioned exhausts as I'm in the market for a 3" system for my newly built race car but can't decide, would have to be able to support 500bhp and be relatively track friendly (pretty relaxed where it will be used). Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated

Agreed nurspec are the typical chavtastic 'hey look at me I have a huge mouth and my big angry car with a spoiler which has 4000bhp'
Agree with Jetex, fantastic quality, the only thing I found with the Revolution system was that it was too quiet, I want to hear something so i know what my engine is doing. I remember Duncan Race Dynamic saying the same when he mapped one of mine..
Theres quiet, then theres Revolution quiet!

You will love the revolution, I fitted one to my Type R a few years back and apart from general engine noise, I couldnt hear anything. Was just a little too quiet for me, but peaceful! I moved to Hayward and Scott with the small box, which was a good noise level but a bit too droany.. was almost going to go for the Cobra large silencer one, but ended up with a Genome which is perfect.
A friend of mine uses a HKS silent Hi Power on his Mitsu, and its deadly quiet as well, but very expensive, and its cracked twice. HKS replaced both times granted, shows good customer service but dosent show very good quality in my opinion

I've got a cobra track friendly which I highly rate it's been on the car nearly 3 years. However id advise mating it to an RCM down pipe which will require them to change the flange, not a big job & they did it FOC.

Milltek just like the other crap imho.
Welds all cracked, flanges were shot, I ended up cutting it to pieces and making one up all slip jointed, even the centre box rusted to hell and cracked the welds all the way around, only decent thing to be saved was the downpipe.
I personally wouldn't spend the money on one, yet the cobra we fitted is still pretty much the way it was when we fitted it, work that out

Thanks for the opinions guys, tbh I'm not bothered with big brand names and there bling as the car will be for competion use and not a show car, just after a good free flowing 3" system that can happily support 500bhp, thanks again for all your help

It sounds well with my Blitz Nurspec back box, dump valve, induction noise, screaming turbo and loud gold wheels.
Coupled in with WR blue paintwork, huge scoop and gargantuan boot spoiler my car really stands out, but I suppose this is more what the Scoobynet community aspires to;

I have a full decat japspeed system on my newage and it sounds lovely nice burble on normal driving but comes to life when you put your foot down. As for it being cheap tin maybe it is but I have found it good enough for me and good value. I have had numerous exhausts in the past expensive and cheap and they all do pretty much the same thing in my opinion just give different notes and sound levels. If you want a quiet exhaust (no offence to anyone intended) why buy a Scooby, they should be heard coming from a mile off the cars are famous for their noise so why tame it? Just my thoughts.

As per we get a whole host of people who have never had either commenting and offering expertise on things they don't know about.
I have a japspeed full exhaust system on my 535hp classic that is reguarly raced and tracked. Never had any issues with it at all. Its dented to buggery and scraped to hell due to the car been so low.
Still performs perfect, no restrictions and isn't silly loud like a chav tastic nur spec.
I have the 3" version. Highly recommended and definitely not upset when I scrape it as it didn't cost the earth!

Had a cobra system on my 2010 hatch sti I swapped the original because as you know the oem doesn,t make much noise let alone give out the famous burble,I must admit I was really surprised by the quality given the price.

Just had a 3" Cobra downpipe fitted, it nearly touches the floor. Had to raise the coilovers a tad. Did you bin yours?
