Turbo back and remap
I'm looking at doing turbo back exhaust with a remap. My budget is only around £1500.
I don't mind fitting the exhaust system myself, my friend is quite handy for that kind of stuff, will help keep the costs down. Anyone have any recommendations or what system to get ? Also can anyone reconmend anywhere for a remap in the north west ?
Thanks
Chris

With a £1500 budget you could add a few other very basic mods to the list.
Just simple stuff like an uprated fuel pump, performance panel filter, better plugs, fresh oil and filter. All the above will make a difference come remap time. And all of the above plus exhaust and map are achievable within your £1500 budget.
With regard to what system to get, well it depends what sort of volume you're after really.

As strange as it sounds, I'm not to bothered what noise it makes on the motorways. It's the idle I want quite loud plus driving at lower speeds ( 40mph and below ) I currently have a decat and prodrive back box, in my opinion that's quite quiet. Id prefer it to be louder then quieter if I had to choose. I don't want a ear bleeding loudness to it. I've also been told to go with a 3".

A decat downpipe will add to the tickover volume and give you better power when mapped, if you already have a straight through centre decat pipe then all you need is a new backbox. I personally think 2.5" systems sound nicer and either a afterburner vortex or blitz nur spec would do the job nicely.

So can anyone reconmend anywhere in the north west ? Or do I need to travel further out ?
I tried to search on here for ECU remap North West but it only found a thread from 2008. Maybe I'm doing something wrong ?
Andyforestperformance and Andrew Carr. Are they still reputable and still going ?
Thanks

Although I have a STi, I did the following:
£100ish fuel pump, fitted
£150 second hand sports cat, fitted
£300 remap
£30 air filter
£nil back box (fitted by previous owner)
---------
£580 = 330bhp, ok so less power on your car but still plenty of cash spare.

Don't want to sound like a pr**k, but can anyone actually reconmend any tuner then ? Not just the north west, I'll travel if I have to, just want someone with a decent rep.
Thanks

Worth giving him a call, explain your position and he can tell you what bits you need installed before he maps it for you.
