Default working under the car

as above really, I am looking for something to use at home.

options are..

axle stands

ramps

ramps with the bottle jack on the front part to get the car higher

tilting car lift

what do you use, and what would get the cat the highest off the ground?

thanks
ian

Axle stands & quality trolley jack. The most important thing is that you are on solid level ground & make sure the car is safe before going under it, never use a jack without a stand as they can suddenly collapse.

This is what I use now, but I find myself keep looking at these tilting car lifts.

I think CDF racing was selling them on this forum a few years ago

same as above I always use a good set of axle stands and a jack and always put my wheel under the side of the car aswell just as a extra safe measure I would rather the wheel takes the weight of the car if it did come down than me

Good quality stands and low level high lift jack. All my work is done on the floor on stands.

Never ever work under a car without stands.

I use the 6 ton SGS ratchet stands. Great quality.
Make sure you get 2 pairs.

Guys can someone show me a pic of where your putting your axle stands? I use the diff and front jack plate to lift either end up, but I've never really found somewhere I'd be happy to put stands, I haven't had the need to do anything under the car yet, but would like to know for when I do!
