newbie help with immobiliser
Hello All
Wondering if any of you kind people would be able to point me in the right direction, my only key fob for my bugeye Subaru 2001 wrx estate broke at the weekend so its currently stuck on my drive with all the windows wide open.
Today I tried to get the emergency code from Subaru but as of yet no luck so I can at least start the car and put the windows up again.
my questions are am I knackered until the Subaru dealership find me the code or is there any other way I can get the car going again.
I was quoted 65 quid from Subaru for a new key fob and a further 60 to programme it which seems excessive in my opinion.
the car is not worth that much so don't really want to be spending a fortune on it and was hoping Subaru would give me the part number so I can find one on ebay myself and then programme it.
do you think its just worth biting the bullet and paying the dealership to sort out for me or try and do it on the cheap, I must also point out that I bought the car second hand and wasn't given the pin number to use in this case
your help would be greatly appreciated

if you just needed the windows up, is there a way to put wires straight from the battery to the windows switches (Which just pop out easily) I know that would work on old cars?

If you can get your key working or get new below is how you change the pin.
A. Using a working Radio Key:
- Arm and then Disarm the system using a working Radio Key.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*92*wxyz*wxyz# (where wxyz is your new PIN code)
- Arm the system with the Radio Key
- You should now be able to disarm the system using the new PIN code

Is everyone missing something here. The sigma m30 would not stop the electric windows working!!! This sounds like a case of a slow blow fuse failure. Check all the sbf's in the engine bay fusebox.
If this is not the case,
And If it's not a sigma alarm, there's nothing subaru will do anyway.

Until I click the fob button the only thing that works is the radio and the *** lighter

my sigma was all connected to the radio, central locking, windows etc and was installed 2 years after my car was manufactured (2003) it had all genuine subaru paper work for it but who ever installed it didnt do the best of jobs, cutting the story short i was told these immobilisers are now very out dated and not very good so had mine chopped out, maybe worth thinking about
