On-going wagon project.
Hi All.
I have had my wagon for 18 months now and can honestly say, its the best car I've ever had .
To start with some simple details about the car when I got it.
Its a MY99 UK wagon in DBM (the bestest colour ), it had £75k on the clock when I got it with loads of history and receipts. It was mostly standard when I got it but did have some colouyr coding and STI rear lights and some nice speedline ST2's fitted.
My plans for this project aren't going to set the world on fire, but just thought I would share it with other like minded individuals (you lot.)
After owning the car for a couple of months and just enjoying in standard trim, it developed a rather iritating problem. It would just cut out at random intervals. Turned out it was wire to the fuel pump had lost its insulation. After some rooting around the problem was found and a new pump was installed.
Now I couldn't just put a standard one back in so thought it would be a good point to upgrade to a Walbro pump, so I wouldn't have to bother about it further down the line.
A couple more weeks passed and I had to have that burble, so I sourced from ebay a used centre de-cat and a scorpion back box. So I paid my money and went to collect the parts, the next day fitted them and that sorted my exhaust (for the moment at least).
My next purchases were a P1 front splitter, some fog covers, an induction scoop for the Blitz induction kit I just got, and some roof strips for the roof rail delete. Whilst I was painting the Splitter I removed the headlights and sidelights and painted the inner plastic surrounds black to give a more aggresive look which I think it has acheived.
Things started to get a little more serious when I got some BC racing coilovers which are amazing, drop the car nicely and improved the handling alot, great bits of kit.
I then went to S4U for a power run their rollers to see what I had before any engine mods. Power was 212bhp and torque was 160ft lb not too bad for a standard car UK T2000.
Before getting more power I got some new grooved discs and kevlar pads from Ian @ Godspeed, at the same time I fitted some braided hoses all round (not without problems). The hard brake pipe at the rear snapped, luckily there was a garage round the corner that replaced it the next day phew! I also fitted a brake stopper and replaced all the fluid and it feels much better now I can stop.
I also did a swap with my mate he liked my wheels and I his so a change was done and I had some 16" SSR's. Yum!
(After a wash but wouldn't start, damn imobiliser!)
Next up was POWER!! I didn't want to go mad at this stage just a nice increase before all the serious work begins (not sure when that will be yet.)
I got a VF28 from a friend of mine a H&S sport cat downpipe and binned the induction kit for a oanel filter and CAI with intake from the fog cover.
Next up was to get it fitted and mapped. I got the bits fitted and took it down to S4U for Simon @ JGM to do the mapping, and the difference was AMAZING, it felt like a new car. Results were 297bhp and 330ft lb @ 1.45bar.
I was hoping for 320ish bhp so was maybe a little dissapointed it didn't make that, but the torque is imense which more than makes up for it.
Thats it all up to date now.
Future plans include some more suspension bits, braces, bushes, ALK, ARB's etc. Window tints Carbon roof wrap.
Then a bit further down the line after some serious saving a 2.1 engine hopefully running approx. 400bhp.

Tbh a true 300 is about right for a VF28, and with the torque and the quick spooling of the VF28 I bet that's a damn fine giggle Simon is very good, I really enjoy the rides I had in VF28 turbo'd cars. They really pull tidy and show a few wannabees up good and proper, enjoy

Right then a couple of small updates.
First on the job list this weekend was to repair the front bumper that was hanging off.
So I started removing the bumper but found the metal panel that it is fixed to has pretty much rotted away completley, so this will need fixing soon. (Is it bolted on or welded?)
While I was there I took some pics of the CAI from the fog cover, they aren't great but hopefully will show the pipework.
Fog cover removed.
View from top with headlight removed.
Routed up the inside of the bumper.
A View inside the bonnet.
And then it just fits into the hole where the resonator would go. Simples!
Next on the list.
I got some STI front wishbones from ebay, as I need to replace the bushings anyway, I thought I would get these too as they were a good price. I also didn't want to leave them grey so...........
Before
After cleaning
Primed
And finally painted and compared to the original STI ones.
I know they won't be visible to much, but hey why not. If they were always visible I wouldnt of done them orange.
All I need to do now is decide if I want to Polybush the whole car or just replace with new rubber jobbies. Any opiniions?
Also painted a couple of engine bits, cos we were bored.
.
I will be getting a full orange silicone hose kit if I can find one.
More to come soon hopefully.

A couple of updates.
Painted and fitted a new bumper support, and while the front of the car was in bits I fitted a fmic, both bought from here so thanks very much.
And a pic of my car on the rr before JGM worked his magic.
The end result was 327.9bhp and 330lb ft which I was both surprised and happy with.

Thanks, I love these 16's as well, but it's proving hard to find the best brakes I can fit under them. As most seem to need 17's at least. Especially as I'm not finished with the engine yet, would really need some better stoppers first.

I've driven a wagon and an RA on 16s with AP 308s and standard sliding rear callipers...massive improvement over standard and both were track day\sprint specific cars

So a few more things done since my last update.
I fitted the exhaust it's a Jap speed cat back, fitted for the sound mostly as not much of an increase power wise, which is fine because it sounds amazing. No pics yet unfortunatly.
Next up was to get the alloy wishbones fitted. As the were going on I thought it would be rude not to upgrade the bushes etc. as they went on.
So I got these.
Some poly bushes for the front of the wishbone, and the whiteline roll centre adjustment kit.
A quick pick of it all being installed by Colin @ Ignition Motorsport
I also got some wheels for track use.
Didn't stay like this for long though
Sanded down and filler primer applied.
Then some white primer.
Then some finishing coats and laquer.
All ready for my first track day, which was great fun although need to use better tyres next time
In light of the track day, the next item on the list are some MUCH better brakes
Thanks for looking.
