Cool Sti8 TMIC onto an Sti v3 : WOW!

My TMIC has just arrived from Euroautosalvage.
God it's big in comparison!
Can't belive just how large it is. The suface area is about 50% more. It will be quite an upgrade.
How to get a lot of air to it will be a real project. I think an air scoop off a Pro Stock dragster will just about deliver!

Paid £200 delivered for it, its in great shape and the service from Euro Auto Salvage was really good.

Thanks to Steve for the tip and the help.
AndyF: can I get 400 bhp now?

Chuffed? You bet

911, i will be keeping a close eye on this thread. I'm hoping to upgrade to either STi7/8 or custom inter/chargecooler with 2005's round of mods. Being as you have a similar inlet manifold to my '98 UK i'd be really interested to hear how you get along with fitting it.

I've been sent a pic of an Sti8 in a classic engine bay. Looks bloody tight, DV and clutch reservior are in the way, so a bit of cut-n-shut there.
There is a thread on www.22B.co.uk (or .com) covers it all!
This is a really big TMIC and I'm really pleased with it over the FMIC option.
Getting air through it may be a challenge though.
Steve is making some custom mounting brackets for this application as there is a bit of fooling around to be done there.
Not too sure if the carbon front brace will go back on as it is very tight round the back.
Find that 22B thread, it is really good, the job is a bit Meccanoish, just messey.

I almost have all the bits for the whole engine conversion, and I hope to do a 'mini thread' on the job as I think there are many who will find it intesting.
Target 380 bhp hill climb car, all bolt-on.

Here is the thread from bbs.22b.com

http://bbs.22b.com/cgi-bin/ultimateb...c;f=2;t=000048

Its from a MY99 but MY98/97 will be very similar, except for the DV location.

Dave.

Thanks for that Dave. I went there so to speak, and have printed off the Thread!
The DV and the Clutch res cylinder are the tricky bits, just part of the fun!?

Peanuts:
The top guy in my class on the Midlands hill climb championship has an EVO 5 RS with about 450 bhp and he knows how to drive it too.
The car is heavy though (1.4/1.5 tons), so my hope/dream/plan/prayer/guess is with this motor and slicks I can catch the bugger!
Providing the trans doesn't die first...
I want to do a 'project' thread like Carl when I get started, 'Bolting - on 380 bhp'
Hope it works otherwise sell sell sell and back to the old Porker.(230 bhp in 950 Kg)

Or, why not fit the scoob engine in the Porker?
