This is my 1st Impreza, ive owned it over a year now, got it from a member on here.
This is it when I got it, not much changed really.
Changed the wheels
Then I had a leak from the rad so I replacement was due
After fixing a few little bits that's how it stayed up till the engine went pop :/
Now it's undergoing abut if a refresh.
Brought a newage sti block from East Kent scooby spares (top bloke), the plan was to put my heads on it with new gaskets, head bolts and can belt etc then sell it but I got carried away now I'm keeping it.
Then came a set of rods at a good price so I thought it would be rude not to
On stripping of the engine I cleaned up the Pistons to sell and found they were forged already 😎
The heads and blocks are away to be skimmed and vapour blasted, so I got on with the other bits.
Painted the inlet, powder coated the intercooler pipes and other brackets, heat wrapped the manifold and down pipe.
Got all the gaskets and bolts ready
Had a lick of paint

Subscribed! Looks great, what heat wrap did you use? Also what paint for the inlet? I really want to get an OEM finish to mine, but don't want it to flake off
Also got nismo 740cc injectors and aftermarket rails with braided pipes.
On removing the engine I found that the vf28 compressor wheel had bits missing apparently common.
Also found the block was an open deck, pretty sure it should have been a scd so someone's swapped them at some point, it's a semi closed going back in 😉
Timmy- I never thought It sounds like the other Impreza's. Do you not want the panel for your Impreza?
CutmasterT- I'm not sure of his name but he's a big bloke, wouldn't **** him off lol.
There's a sc36 for sale at the mo but I was after 400bhp ish which that won't reach, Martin at engine tuner is devloping a t36 hybrid which sounds great but I don't really want to spend another £1300 😥

I've only recently got mine fitted, but needed a six speed before mapping it to its full potential.
Rich breaks a lot cars so maybe speak with him and see if he can get hold of one or something similar. I think he had an SC46 (not sure if he still does) but I believe they're more suited to the 2.5, and would be a tad laggy on the 2ltr.
Keep looking in the for sale section on here too, I'm sure one will pop up sooner or later
i have a car the same as yours same colour same look and iv bought most of the same bits as you lol just waiting to put it together as i had the wrong fuel rails v1 paralel fuel rails dont fit my v3 so i need some v3 billet rails or something
you got any pics mate? as iv already bought all the lines and fittings i have a post in the wanted section looking for some rails to run parallel on a v3 inlet so im very interested in these
Got the shocks fitted, also put the grease nipples in the rears.
Removed the a/c matrix to tidy the engine bay.
Also cleaned the arches while the shocks were out.
This is how it stands at the mo, till the wheels arrives.
Fitted the new exhaust but I'm not too sure about it, it's rather large and angled.

Open deck block with forged pistons is standard on a V4 STI
Semi closed deck blocks didn't start until the newage STI and closed decks were only found on early cars up to about 95 and then in the V2 STI RA. After that all had open deck blocks.
