Longest time (or biggest mileage) without an oil change?
What's the longest time or biggest mileage you've ever done, or heard about, without changing engine oil?
Just read a post on another forum from an owner of a 2010 Mazda 3 diesel who did 23,000 miles between annual services by his Mazda dealer.
A couple of months after the last service (and just out of warranty), the engine put a rod through the block. Unsurprisingly, Mazda doesn't want to know as the specified service interval is 12,500 miles or a year.

I am digging around to see if I can find the link.

I had a customer come in with an audi a4 with full audi service history. The car had done close to 100k.
Reading through the service book, the oil had been changed at 48k and we changed it on that day at nearly 100k

I read on PH once someone claiming their girlfriends A3 went at least 8 years with no oil change, then she sold it (with no oil change).

A girl in our office has a TT TFSI, it uses so much oil between services that it probably gets a fresh sump-full every 5,000 miles

A friend of mine had a legacy on a contract, all servicing etc included ...
Every time he contacted them to arrange a service, they said they would get back to him, or the date they suggested wasn't suitable to the garage
Suffice to day the car decided to make its own voice heard, and put a rod out of the block!
Queue big wrangle between contract co., garage & my mate as to liablity lol
Think the contract co. lost in the end

My brother in law, when he hit 18 was bought a brand new vauxhall corsa 1.0 by his parents to go to university
He owned it for three years and 50k without ever lifting the bonnet he decided his money was better spent on beer instead of servicing.
He was driving it to Alton towers, on the m40 the oil light came on followed by an increasingly loud rattle, oblivious he carried on to Alton towers then attempted to drive home to Hampshire later in the day, he made it within 20 miles from home when it finally gave up, he told the AA man it seemed to be down on power for the last few miles and wouldn't go over 30..
The car was part exchanged for a new Fiesta....
