Theres a guy in Reading thats got a black MK2 Escort with an X-pack and nose cone thats running approx 350bhp on 4wd running gear. It use to belong to the wifes dad a few years ago.
Dingys is well impressive, at the pod last year his terminal speed was the best of the day and there was some respectable cars taking part...

Noooooooooooo
The only Cossie engine to go in a mk2 Escort should be a BDA one!
As for 4wd...
The mk2 is a rwd, opposite lock, rally machine and should not be messed with.
Respect the great cars!

Daz, mate, I know you love me but we dont have children you confused individual......
If I EVER see your back end out again in the woods or anywhere else I an never gonna stop running.
Sorry Daz, your phrasing there was a little unfortunate, couldnt help but rise to it. Yep I remember that yellow monster, typical Thompson motor, shy and retiring to the last.
When are we going for that pint (seeing as you hang around in the pub thats not my local but the nearest one to it)

Remember the Vecta Ford Challenge Series where all the old GpA RS500's retired to, I can remember Paul Bailey in his RS2000/500 beating all the Sierras and RS200 Evos on several occasions.

I once saw Paul Bailey's Escort at Cadwell Park, I have never seen a car anything like as fast that down the pit straight, superbikes were faster though.
It was a missle, confirmed by the fact he had to brake 2/3rd's of the way down the straight to get round the next corner. It made the RS200 & RS500's racing that day look underpowered.
