seriously check the insurance before you commit to anything!! I heard that the e36 was right up there at the top on insurance scales, some wont even insure them, I had a vanos e36 coupe which was amazing, however that was a long long time ago so not much use. sorry.

Had a few cabs & sold my last one last year. Make sure the electric roof works properly - test it lots of times in case it packs up during a cycle & get a good colour combination, a manual in blue with grey leather works. Get this right & you won't lose much on it after a year or two.

Bought a hard top for winter which was great but a real ball ache to store!

blue and grey leather seems to be the ones to go for..

as for insurance thought they would be alot lower then my scoob seeing that there std and older...turns out as per moleys comments there one of the worst cars to insure...same if not more that the scoob..#

Also be careful of SMG cars - it was BMWs first incarnation and when its good its very good - but these are now old cars and SMG can be very troublesome.

I comverted mine to manual and it was a far nicer car to drive.

Rear space ok-ish - not the best place for adults on long trips though.
