Default Tyre help

guys not sure if this should be in here or wheels n tyres section but i have a 330 ci m sport running on a set of 19" CSL wheels and the rears need replacing.

I have been searching on line and have come across a few tyre makes that are used but was wondering if anyone on here could shed some personal experience on what they think is a good tyre for a rear wheel drive bmw

cheers

steve

Tyres are the contact point that keeps you from heading into the bushes.

On anything with decent power, get decent tyres. Never buy used.

Pirelli P-Zero's, Michelin Pilot sport 3's, or Continental Contisport contact 3's would be my first 3 choices.

Mate I 100% agree with you hence why rather than just buying something a tyre fitter makes most mark up on I am doing some home work to find out what is best suited to the BMW. I did see on the BMW forums that people said the,

flaken 452's, toyo t1r's and Goodyear f1 asymetics were a good choice but the falkens came on the car and in anything other than the dry personally I think they are dreadful where as I had them on my old UK turbo and thought they were great.

Will have a look into the ones you suggested.

I had the Michelin Pilot sport 2's on my Subaru. way way better than the standard fir Bridgestones, that were deadly in the wet/cold.

Had Falken 452's on my Golf. OK tyre, but I wouldn't have them on anything with real power. Didn't get much wear out of them either.

Have P-Zero's on my R8. Haven't had any issue at all with them in the wet or dry. Road noise is good, unlike the Bridgestone on my old 370Z that roared like mad.

The pilot sports have a new model number 3 and seem to get good reviews along with p-zeros

As stands from what I can tell. (Pls ignore spellings lol)

Mich sports 3
Verdesans ultrac setantas
P zeros

Are the 3 main options with Dunlop sport s001's as a outside choice.

Agree on the 452's not a big fan as I have them at the minute, time to start pricing them up think I might be in for a shock being a 19" low profile rim :-(
