Anyone had/driven one of these?
Mate is about to get one - and I actually quite like the look of it must be getting too old
Surely the T5 version might be a bit nippy - more of an "exec express" type motor, but quite a low key image?

I also looked at buying one. The GT T5 is a fantastic piece of machinary. Reasonably quick. Only problem for me was a majority of them had auto boxes. I was really after a manual.
Went for a Bavarian alternative instead in the end.

I worked in the factory in Uddevalla, Sweden where they make C70's. Scary stuff, I'm sure all car factories are the same but watching them close panel gaps with rubber mallets and listening to the welds pop when they first drop them onto their wheels was enough to put me off!
Great cars to drive though, go for the T5 definitely.

Welds popping, er surely they wouldnt be able to sell them !
I have a 850 T5 which isnt the same but it is the same basic Chassis, They are quick and handle ok but not the most fun on wheels. Where the C70 scores is that its not a BMW and I think they are very classy.

Friend in a TVR had a C70 try it to cut him up undeer full throttle coming out of a roundabout, potentially forcing him into a lorry - TVR accelerated out of trouble as if the C70 was standing still leaving the driver humiliated for his pains.

Had a C70 for a weekend for a long test drive around 3 years ago. Lovely machine - great seats - looks great IMHO and the stereo was top drawer stuff.
Nothing compared to the Scooby for driving fun but lovely touring machine.
Richard.
