I need to change my user name - again!
The Slow Red Skoda has gone and been replaced with a Slow White BMW!
I've taken delivery of a 320d Efficient Dynamics - 109g CO2/km and therefore cheap company car tax.
So far, it has 46miles on the clock and averaging an astounding 58mpg!
It also picks up quite well!
I'd post pictures but I'm sure everyone has seem a 3 Series before
I'm just a bit concerned that after the boot size of the Tavia, the BMW will struggle to fit our life in.

E90 saloon. The ED isn't quite avaialbe yet as a tourer, not on the Lex car lists anyway - plus that shape is over the 110g/km yardstick making it a bit more per month than the saloon.
The boot will be fine, might just need a roof rack!

TBH its still a fairly reasonable boot in the E92, sure the 90 is similar. Enjoy the drive, been impressed with mine, its been thrown around North Wales this week and it handles sweetly, for a heavy car the body roll is barely there and handles and grips soooo well

I've just done a 288mile round trip to Teesside at a steady 65mph and returned an indicated 74.3mpg! The engine has yet to do 500 miles as well!
I know it's not the best way to run an engine in but 74.3mpg!

Well, I've had the car for a month and my impressions?
It's an appliance.
I can't connect with it. Every car I've had, I have enjoyed washing, taking care of etc. This one is sat outside, dirty and the back seat is full of the detritus the children have left.
Still it's cheap and I can change it in 3 years and 11 months

This is exactly how I feel about our 320D, which is now 7 years old. I keep thinking about replacing it with something more interesting, but the damn thing is just so practical, economical and reliable, that getting rid of it doesn't make any economic sense!

Steve, what are the real figures on your mpg. You mentioned 74 above which is stunning even for a trip computer figure but how does that compare to calculated figures?
A quick search on the web show that this car has 161bhp and 265 torques. Has efficiency really moved on this much? I have a Mondy TDCi 130 which averages 49 (calculated) mpg when chugging along the M1 @ 70 - i could benefit from sommat newer if 60-70mpg can be achieved while still having a decent turn of speed.

My Pug diesel manages 49mpg (calculated) at c90mph, dare say it will do more if I reduce my speed however it would then take me hrs to get home!
TX.
PS
It also sits unwashed as as it has for the last 3mnths ...

I reckon Audi trip computers lie. It shows my 3.0TDi returning 54-55mpg when I bimble up to Tyneside at a steady 70
(I can get >500 miles from a tank though. I almost got 600 one time but I chickened out with the red light on)
