How old would a used RS4 be that would cost you the same as a brand new RS3.
Replace RS4 with M3 or C63 or Golf GTi and an Elise etc.
It seems to be a very expensive car.

Was considering one myself. Ended up getting a 6 month old S3 S-Tronic.
Was £13k cheaper, good spec and in terms of day to day performance, not far off. Cheaper to insure and fuel too.
But, I will be looking at a used one once they start to appear on the market.
The only thing to consider is they are only bringing 500 into the UK, so there might not be many left.

yup, skint I would be! LOL.
I shoulda stretched to the STI from new instead of my WRX. I have some money I could throw at my WRX but realistically the transmission and engine worry me. I still like the Subaru there is no doubt of that.

5 door only and Auto only.
A 3 door manual would have been a brilliant car.
Go to the Audi configurator, and give one a decent spec, and you're looking at £50k+. Way over priced.
Plus, the RS3 is based on a floorplan 10 years old. The new A3 will be out shortly, though any S variant will take another 2/3 years to appear.
I can't see the RS3 being sought after on the second hand market like say the RS4, so trade-in/selling value could be hit.
For £50k there are serious cars out there (even if you want brand new) but if second hand doesn't bother you, you could buy a mint RS4 with change. 997 Carrera S?

Its on my shopping list WAS on my shopping list (see footnote) after the R32. Or a TT-RS which is a bit cheaper as they've been around longer (same chassis, same engine etc.)
One thing for sure it sounds ALOT better than the harsh 4pots found in the Golf R and S3 etc, not to forget that constant farting drone from the exhaust making it sound like a Nova with a Peco back box.
Edited to add...5 door auto/DSG only? Are they idiots, ever heard of such thing as giving the buyer a choice? Oh well, thats another car off the shopping list. Is there ANY worthy modern replacement to the 3 door Golf R32? I don't want a bigger car nor a laggy/farty 2.0 4pot

Lol, thanks all. Very valid and well made points there. I have looked at used RS4's online for sure, awesome and do love em. Haves also looked at S3 but need to check out S4 too. That would be nice. Oh the bloody choice! Love the new M1 too. Oh ffs. Lol. Common sense must prevail though as I really wanted AWD again due to our winters.

Alan, no such thing mate only made from 06-08. however this is the car i currently have and trust me mate if this leaves you skint to buy it then you CANNOT afford to run it.
It costs me approx £1.5k a year to insure, tax and service my RS4 thats before any fuel or consumables,ie tyres etc.
Granted you should not need any for a year or more if you go new RS3 but i love my RS4 an its the only RS that Audi got right IMO.

Lets face it, I am spending sh1tloads on my WRX so the RS4 would in some ways be cheaper at times. Tyres, etc and fuel would be similar to my WRX. Maybe use more fuel but I am sensible more than fast nowadays.
I love that number plate! LOL nice idea. Nice car too. i AM jealous

Cheers Mate, nice to be civil to each other for a change, lol
The servicing is done on either fixed term or long life depending on your driving habits, my last one was approx 250 from main dealer.
have only done 5000 miles in last 14 months and another 300 days to next service according to computer.
get one you wont be dissapointed.

Last time i looked i was averaging 19 mpg so not to bad, tyres are approx 220 per corner and brakes approx 5-600 for fronts.
Its about the same as my old STi on running and insurance was cheaper(crazy),lol
Gets loads of looks and has scared a few cars when they thought it was just a pimped up A4.

There you go, pretty sure it would tear an M1 or an RS3 a new arsehole too.
