Had and still got a mark 2 RS2000, that I've owned for 13 years. For it's day it was soooo fast and would burn normal RS Turbos. The suspension was brilliant, and I used to spend all my time sideways. Was so controllable. I'm in the process of restoring the car, and look forward to driving her again, with a Cossie Lump Five link suspension, etc.

Currently driving a MY00.

Cheers Phill C

Had 2 Mk1s, own 3 Mk2s,
1- standard with factory option stage 1 head + 44 carbs in white.
2- Full X-Pack kit and options list in black
3- RS500 cossie lump with soon to be fitted 8 Green injectors in imperial blue.
I prefer the Mk2 but it is a personal preferance

Brother owns this :-

Sorry its big !

Fantastic laugh. 2000cc pinto.
Straight cut Rocket box.
Around 150BHP
Austin Princess AP4 pots on front (strange but true !)

Only problem is you can't hear yourself think inside cos of the gearbox whine so we wear OMP practice headsets on the road, but look a bit of a nutter !

I had a mark 1 Mexico with an RS 2000 engine and 'box (Olympic blue with white Mexico stripes), then replaced it with a Signal orange Mark 2 RS2000, which I heavily modded:- LSD, Bilsteins, Vented discs, Group one motor running on weber 45 sidedraughts (gave 150 bhp @ wheels on rolling road). It was pretty awesome and real good fun, the lsd had to be the one best mod, I still remember doing donuts int he thing, oh happy days.

M2 Escort,
Serious respect for the RS500 equipped Mk2. How much do you want for it?

Couldnt put a price on it, It started off as a small toy but things changed (i smashed up me RS500) while rebuiding the engine so a full on project developed and about £15K in 5 years. Good fun but if i did sell it would have to be big money

I've been meaning to add to this that I'm on the lookout for a MK2 at the moment. So if anyone knows of one thats not a concours with an attractive price tag then mail me on 47nat@thomson47.fsnet.co.uk

Thanks

Nath

PS: Nice pics, apart from the burnt out one
