Default Berlingo drinks fuel

No joy on MLR so see if you can do any better.
My 2L HDi used to do about 475 miles to the tank but now only manages about 325. It happened suddenly and to drive it may be a bit down on power but as it's so gutless anyway I can't be sure. The brakes are fine ( it freewheels a treat) and engine braking feels normal. There is no obvious smoking and no apparent fuel leaks. Also no warnings on the dash (or CELs to you).
I think I'm going to get the ecu read for errors (although not expecting to find any) and also get the emissions checked to see if they indicate over fuelling. I have an air flow sensor still on my old van to swap but they rarely over-read so I'm not hopeful.

Why have a non-Mitsubishi/Subaru section if it is of no use, and there tend to be SOME generally clued up sorts here and there (nature of the beast where Imprezas/Evos are concerned).

As far as the fuel filter goes it can only restrict flow (which eventually throws up a dash light).

That is true, but for the time it has taken you to post on 2 performance saloon car forums, you could have maybe tried a Citroen one?

Fair point, although I may have to sign up or something and I can't see me spending much time on there. Possible means to an end though.

Did some reading on a French Citroen forum, couple of things to check:
- knackered turbocharger solenoid
- clogged particle filter

good luck

You need to get it plugged in a check the live data rather than just check for fault codes

Try running a merc sl500- your fuel economy is still fantastic!

But, seriously, thers a diesle supplement called BG 244 which is brilliant ( unlike the cheap stp etc at halfords that doesnt work) . My brother put some in his VW touran 2.0tdi and it runs better and fuel economy improved.

Do a search on the BG products
