old car and new car
changed my faith full scooby for some v8 muscle! the scooby was my pride and joy for many years but this takes the biscuit!drives so nice and the noise and the supercharger whine its not as quick of the mark as the subaru due to 535hp through the rear tyres but would kill it when up and moving, maybe not in the wet lol,any way old and new hope you like

And I thought the 400bhp as standard was enough. Everyone who is into cars should at some point own one of these.
Just make sure it hasn't got Pirelli Rosso tyres on the back...if it has, don't let it out in the wet. And most certinaly don't use it at winter with those tyres. Other Monaro owners may think they are ok, but I beg to differ. And watch out for lift off oversteer on turn-in, it can catch you unaware.
Other than that; enjoy and try not to cook the brakes. The VXR versions handle superbly, but they do need to be respected.

thanks chaps, fuel not to bad really hardly much in it compared to a tuned scooby! around 16mpg with mixed driving but single figures if having fun tyres seem ok dunlop sp sport on the back, was surprised how well it goes around corners to be honest after the subaru but it dose have road responce kit, sports struts springs, bushes and ap racing brakes front and rear oversteer seems very managble and safe?which is just as well really as it will spin up in third at 80mph in the wet nearly **** myself. will try and get some sound clips over the weekend, thanks again chaps

I so wanted one of these, but due to the small boot (no hatchback), I regrettably had to rule it out.
But that DOES look fantastic!
Gos to show - contrary to what people think, there IS life after Subaru!!

Very nice indeed, good on you buying a car like this given these eco this and that Boll**ks. Yes you don't really need that much BHP and maybe a high power diesel will feel just as quick around town with more mpg, but the sound alone would make me forget all that.
Look forward to hearing the sound clips!
Cheers,
Ant

Nice car mate, and they sound lovely with an exhaust on.............had a VXR version last year and really liked it,plus it would do an easy 28mpg on the motorway..........although it was 14-16mpg round town !!
One of those cars that feel like they will keep accelerating forever.
Enjoy it!
