Default A Bit Foolish!

My mate works in TESCO as a warehouse manager.

Anyway, he's gone and bought an RX-8. Fair enough you might think.

Sadly not. He never test drove it or listened to any advice on the issue that the Wankel engine as. Tipped up had a look and just bought it

Why does it matter where he works?

I've bought a few cars unseen/driven and had no issues with them. Depending on the age it may have warranty left so who cares.

He as now started getting the flooded problem first thing in the morning and constantly checking the oil, which disappears quickly.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that they had sorted out the oil issue on the RX8`s. Thought it was only the RX7 that had that

A mate has one and the book states to check the oil every 2 tank fulls which is 220 miles per tank. He has got used to the oil so only checks it every 1k miles. He uses around a litre of oil every 1200 -1500 miles.

I looked at these but was put off by all the problems that people seem to have and accept on the owners forum. Rust, flooding, fuel consumption and dodgy engines.

In defence, the oil issue appears to be exagerated and they are RWD sports car.

They have no torque though and IMHO, didn't feel fast, even though they are a quick car.

They are great value IMO and looking at the latest road tax information, pre march 06 cars will only cost £210 a year in tax - bonus!
