Default Which cars for the following spec:

My dads after a car which meets the following:

Must be under 1500 cc
Manual
4 Door
50mpg preferrably petrol

Which makes and models should he be looking at?

Not bothered what colour etc, doesn't want a Renault though as thats what he has at mo.

Budget not an issue although doesn't want to buy new so wants it to have at least 5000 on clock.

I don't have a clue where to start

1.0 Yaris will get over 50, 1.3 just under.
Diesel gets you 62.

My accountant is the thriftiest bloke in the world. After x4 fiesta's on the bounce [bought at 3 years old and sold at 6 years old], he decided to move on to a 3 year old Yaris 1.0 with a/c.

He is more than impressed, monitoring the fuel consumption by the hour, it manages 47.9634957 in winter and 51.209754385 during warmer months, with only 30 seconds of a/c blast at a time.

It costs NOTHING to service, doesn't wear anything out and just keeps going.

Recommended.
