Looking for a Touareg
Looking for a Touareg to replace my Scooby. Has anyone else on here got one? I am thinking about a V6 3.0 TDI. I heard the 2.5 was just a Transporter with a different shell.
Any Advice would be appreciated.
Cheers
Gazz.

Avoid the V10, my mates has been back to VW more times than my wife's Renault. And not for silly little things but major items, gearbox, turbos etc.
I read somewhere about a guy who has taken to running his around on the back of a transporter because is was so unreliable

Thinking of used? I've got a 57 plate V6 altitude in atacama grey in stock for under 25 grand. . . . Sat nav/bodykit/19"/leather all standard, or I can do a silly (circa 6-8k!) discount on a new one. . . . .

I test drove the 3l v6 a about a year ago. We were coming from an X5 and were totally underwhelmed by the Touarag. Ended up with a 3l v6 Q7 in the end. Not quite as good as the BMW but a stretch better than the VW.
In saying that the white one above looks tidy

Cheers for the advice guys. I was tempted by a V10 TBH but the V6 is the sensible option. Just missed out on one the other day that also had the Air Suspension.
I am looking for 2nd hand. There are some great bargins to be had around £15K for 55 and 06 V6's with SATNAV. Really want to shift the Scooby first though. I don't HAVE to but scared to just in case I am then forced to let it go for peanuts. Doesn't seem to be worth much though....
Anything I should be looking out for that people know are issues?

I'm toying with changing to one of these - what's your under 25k price? There are loads on autotrader at that range (e.g. Richard Alexander Harrogate have one 2008, 57 reg, 7k miles for 23k)
Would also be interested to know what you could do for a new one.
If you get chance drop me a pm.
Thanks

My parents bought a brand new tdi Altitude last year and with normal driving it got through a set of tyres in 9k miles. Replacing was going to cost a minimum of 800 quid until i did a bit of digging and found that factory set geometry is an issue. Ended up getting the tyres replaced under warranty.
Other than that and a faulty battery the car has been great.
Looks great in black with leather plus not as common as an X5!
Nik.

In salesman speak, under 25k is usually £24990-£24999.
I quite like the look of the Toerags, the fact they're a bit rare on the road appeals to me... however, the depreciation would mean that I'd only ever consider used. Same as the VW Phaeton (sp?) actually, I think they look brilliant and I'm sure they're lovely to drive and will be a stunning used buy once they've lost the chunk of depreciation at the top end.
What sort of combined figures do you get from the Touareg 3.0V6 TDi?? Rather than brochure figures, what sort of real world figures are owners getting??
Cheers,
Grant

I am still looking but don't want to spend more than £16500 since they are dropping at £1200 a month at the moment. Can't shift the Scooby for love nor money though. Some joker offered me £5500 for my 55 plate WRX300! I'd rather burn it.
Disclalimer: I wouldn't really just in case it catches fire...
