Another recomendation for Z-cars from me! I built myself a fibreglass shell R1 powered mini and it was amazing!!
Quality of parts and service from Z-cars are fantastic. Kit works very well too!!
The tubular front subframe is a thing of beauty!!
Sorry was just having a fond memory moment!

yea that kit for the mini looks top quality have you got any pics on how the engine connects to the drive shafts did you use the original mini gearbox or was it all new parts and chains and sprockets. any pics would be great.

It's all part of the conversion kit from Z-cars. Basically you retain the bike gearbox (with a different sprocket) and are chain fed onto a lsd out the back. There should be plenty of pictures on the z-cars website of the general setup.
Works very well and means you retain the 6 speed sequential box With the addition of a trickshifter you have full throttle clutchless upshifts and clutchless down shifts!!! Simply awesome!

hi delcbr i did this on the cheap it was a cbr 1000 carb engine i only paid 120 for the engine. it was a 42 tooth rear spocket 12 pounds off a cbr 600 and the standard front spocket the cbr uses a 320 chain.
this is a pic of the diff setup you take the diff out of the gearbox and weld a spocket to it. i had to machine the center out to fit.some diffs have a bolt on crown wheel so you can bolt the spocket on. the bearing was i think 10 quid each to hold the diff.
this was the clutch setup i used the standard cable on the car and made a bracket as you can see from the pics.
heres a pic of the carbs on
you can just rig the standard fuel pump up but you only need to run about 4 psi. the seicento has cable to select the gears on the standard gearbox. if you look at the pic with the diff you can see th mod on the gear selecter to use the standard cable. it was fast as fek but i scraped it in the end as i was moving units and couldnt be arsed to take it with me lol.

this was the welding on the diff
this was the rear mount
the engine had to be mounted far forward because of the size of the spocket the idea thing would of been cutting into th bulkhead. but that would of ment moving the steering rack. the whole thing cost about 400.

i thought you just run the original motorcycle sprocket off the engine and connect it to a larger sprocket attached to the driveshafts with a chain.
where does the sprocket adapeter come in then?
is that only needed when running the engine longituinal and using a prop shaft to connect engine to rear wheels?
