I guess they're all just afterthoughts really. A booted car presumably has more room to fold the hood away. Didn't the Pug 306 morph from a hatchback in closed form to a booted car in convertible style. That makes sense for hood stowage and actually looked quite nice. Likewise the Megane.

Don't you just love how forum topics "evolve"? The original post was saying how convertible cars with no boot look rubbish and listed some examples. I think we've all pretty much agreed on that. Now we're discussing convertible cars with boots that look nice. This thread could take many years!
It's like the "Modern Cars As Investments" thread. There really shouldn't be anything from the last century listed as the guy wants a car as a daily driver and not a weekend toy, but it's just turned in to a list of loads of classic cars and an anti X5 diatribe.
Then there's the "Holy Grail" thread. The OP seems to be listing the most special and desirable versions of everyday cars, and then the thread eventually turns into a list of people's fantasy cars! I mean, what humdrum vehicles in the Lancia and BMW line-ups were the Stratos and M1 supposed to be based on??? These may well be the two best cars that each company produced, but I don't think that's the point of that thread, since I don't think the OP is suggesting that either the Ford Cortina Savage or Escort Mexico Mk 2 are the most desirable cars that the Ford Motor Company has ever produced. So I am going to start a thread on that subject.
Anyway, back to the TR7 convertible My parents had one which I used to drive when younger (Reg: XBC80X). It was that lovely gold colour. I quite liked it, but it was too quiet and I it made me look like the local young pimp. We got a 150bhp TR6 later: that was much more like it.
