Price is pretty much spot on.
Ive spent the last 6 months looking at m3s. You will do well to find one any cheaper.
Seems to have all the extras as well.
Ive had 2 STIs and now drive an 02 M3. Its a very different drive to the STI. Feels a lot more solid. Straight line speed is similar to a prodrived STI.
I loved my STIs but i prefer the M3 in nearly every department (wet cornering the exception).
Make sure it got its run in service and check when its due its next. Service 2 is expensive £700 ish.
check that the electric seats work. The cars are known for being a little rough from stone cold so dont let that put you off.
let us know what you do.

I saw this advertised too and a couple of things didn't ring true. It's advertised as having 18in wheels but the photos show 19s. The interior pic shows the later widescreen nav unit which wasn't present until 2002 onwards (02 plate onwards). Could have been retro-fitted but i'd be asking the question.

Its also got AC Schnitzer front and rear carbon fibre bumper spoilers and roof spoiler, they cost a mint alone.
They had a recall for spinning bearing shells, check if it has been carried out.
At 68k, it should have just had its inspection 2 service, normally around 60k (the big one)

IMHO its 2k overpriced even with the AC bumpers.

I would say very good price - Especially from someone like Listers. I have considered a E46 a few times and never found one under 15K even on a private sale.
Cracking cars IMO - Every year I go to le-man with a group of mates 2 of which drive E46 M3's one coupe one softtop.
I change my cars allot so everyyear I have gone I have been in a different car, but everytime I go the BMW's never fail to impress me. The owners drive them really hard nearly all he time and they just take it, they keep up with even the most hottest machinery.
I have tried to take them on, with a VX220 turbo, Scoob 280bhp, MX5 turbo 240bhp, and others have dieced with them in 911 turbo, Audi TT and everytime they really do some damage against nearly everything they come across. And unlike all the turbo stuff, as well as been quick off the line and round corners, they will hold top speeds with ease and do it all day long.
I'm taking my celica GT4 this year running circa 350bhp+ so will see how that fairs this year but suspect I will just come away wanting a M3 again.
Top car, buy wisely and doubt you will be dissapointed.

I have an E46 M3 , I find it great , hasn't missed a beat since I had it , tyres lasted about 10k , Mine has nearly all the extra's , except a sunroof , it's an SMG which I think is brilliant , you either love SMG or hate it , lots of people slate it , I wish I had SMG on my rally car
I fitted the CSL wheels , I wanted a CSL originaly but wanted all the toys as well
Here's mine
Cheers Ian

Thats not a rear bumper, its just the diffuser and in my opinion looks totally crap

I love the SMG too, there's a couple of minor dislikes like not having total clutch control when coming out of junctions from a crawl but otherwise i don't think i would ever go for a manual car again and on track the SMG is awesome. You don't want the sunroof anyway, They are 80's, heavy and you lose headroom besides you have air con
