Ford KA Heater problem
Hello - dont know if anyone can help
the Heater inside our KA is always hot when car is warmed up - the temp control has no effect.
not good in summer !!!
anyone experienced this problem or can help me locate possible source
can take stereo above controls out - dont know if the plastic fascia below that surrounds the heater controls always comes off.
I presume a flap that diverts the heat isnt working somewhere - Ford in there infinite wisdom and great technicians could not find the problem whilst car under warranty - now just over 3 years old and still a problem.
any help useful or if anyone has an exploded view of the heater system ?
thanks
David

Cheers - had the panel off and can see the valve - is it necessary to drain coolant system or can it be changed without.

will ring Ford tomorrow
thanks again

Morpheus is spot on - it is on the bulkhead area, just trace the water pipes from the engine in and out of the bulkhead - there is only 2 and it is on one of them. It is electrically controlled IIRC. PITA to get to on a KA (easier in a Foosty). Water will come out when you change it so you are probably as well draining the sysstem and putting fresh A/F when you re-fill.
