Question Noisy V6

Ive got a Jap import Mazda Bongo/Ford Freda camper van with a 2.5 ltr V6 which on start up from cold makes a clicking tapping noise which almost goes when its warmed up can only hear it when i press the accelerator? Ive added snake oil which frees up stuck lifters and quietens tappets and petrol detox to clean injectors etc but made no difference any ideas?

cheers manners.

I would run flushing oil and then refill it and change the filter at the same time.

If contines then likeyl knackered lifters, are the oil filled?, they may need changing.

The Mitsi 24v 2.5 suffer from weak lifters, made worse by old or thin oil.

lots of legacy owners with tappy hydraulic lifters use 10w 60 oil or flush using ATF

Hi its had an oil change last month before i picked it up not sure what type though, not sure if it is the tappets as its only got 40k klms on the clock ( no history though) and its more of a clicky knock than a tappet noise which Ive had on other cars.

The above advice still applies, if you do not know the type/quality/grade of oil used, was the filter done at the same time, etc.

Might even be a sticking valve, i would flush it and change the oil/filter and see what if any difference this makes otherwise you could be getting into ££££'s
