Default Clio/ grande punto?

ok i'm officially bored with cars after owning 43 now and have got to decide on 1 to keep for a couple of years as i've lost a fortune

i've been looking at the Grande punto sporting which looks sporty but is cheap to run and shouldn't lose too much if i buy a year old model?

i've also seen a year old clio dynamic s 2.0 which looks nippy (on paper) and economical and its £4k less than new price with only 5k so most of the depreciation has happened

I was hoping someone has either owned or had a proper drive of 1 of these as the reviews i've seen are all favourable so it's hard to decide.

I also considered a Fiesta zetec s as it looks sporty but thats 3rd on the list

i used to have a fiesta zetec s and must say it was a great car only reason i got a scoob was because we needed the extra boot space and had 4 doors because of my 2nd child .
it was quite nippy and pretty good on fuel i used to get around 280 miles out of £30 only let down was boot space like i said

Just my opinion, but isnt Fiat one of the worst depreciating marques on the planet? If you plan on keeping it for a couple of years, then it'll be 3 years old and have lost £ks more.

Surely there are better, slower depreciating cars around?

Had a 05/55 Zetec S TDCI and it was an outstanding car. Wish I never sold now.

looking online te grande punto sportings seem to be holding their value quite well compared to the older model puntos did

the clio looks ok on the outside and the figures look reasonable - it's just the basic dash which lets it down - considering a 182 (owned a 172 a few years ago and it was ok - had it for a year) - some bargains about but think the shape might be a bit dated now?

fiesta - old mans got a 1.25 which i've driven - not mentioning performance but the interior on that seems a bit of a let down

well drove the 182 today and bought a 1.6vvt new shape Clio

182 was nippy but very cheap inside - new Clio was slowish but a nice drive (quiet and smooth) - probably change it in a few weeks

Why on earth have you just bought another car which you already admit you're gonna only keep for a few weeks?

i get bored very easily with cars (hence this will be my 44th) - nothing else to spend my money on

thinking about buying a mk2 Golf 16v as a project car to do up - this way i can keep the clio and spend on the golf

I've got a new age (whater mk that is) clio as well, the 1.4 Dynamique S... Best car I've owned

I get about 170-180 miles out of 20 quid, which is exactly twice as much as we get from the scooby. It is really fun to drive around town as well, IMO. It handles OK and the engine feels bigger than a 1.4.

Hi Henrik - the Clio obviously isn't fast but it seems to be a lot better on the build quality , pretty basic looking inside but the materials used are better than the scoob.
hope i don't get bored too quick as at the moment it does seem a nice car
