Default Mitsubishi Shogun Pinin - any good?

thought about getting one for a 'dog car' and cheap run around town

not a serious offroader so not bothered about that aspect

anyone had 1 and any good?

on the trader they are going for 2-3 grand for a 2001 so not bad

you get more for your money than a rav 4

hoping to pull someones trousers down nearer christmas, bend them over and offer them a stupid price....a lot of people just want rid before christmas so i can hopefully bag a bargain

Odd. I thought they were supposed to be good off-road but agricultural on-road, so a rav4 could be better for your purposes. Happy to be corrected though.

They are a mini off roader and have all the right gear so are quite capable off road. On road they are not as car like as a RAV4 but that wouldn't get you as far off road.

Build quality not brilliant and some pretty cheap plastic in the interior.

If it's cheap enough should be sound for taking the dogs in the woods.

Cheers

Daihatsu Sportrack or Fourtrack, more room than a Pinin and cheaper, but probably more 'agricultural'.

Borrowed one at work to travel from kent to yorkshire in. They're not too bad on the motorway, mine was an auto so it was qute a 'lazy' drive.
Fuel economy was quite poor though, only got 30mpg on a run of 60-70mph for 200 miles. Then again, it was a 1600cc mated to an auto box.

Basically, you could do worse.

I've always liked the look of these, and the figures suggest that they could be some fun to drive? Some of them are less than 10 seconds to 60 which isnt bad.

They look alright too, I am sure they got voted in the top 10 of Pinin' designed cars somewhere (which is obviously a bit OTT but still).
