I'm thinking of getting one when i get rid of my scoob, has anyone had one, what are they like compared to the scoob, servicing costs seem a little better (every 9k £125, every 27k £275 all in and £140 for cam belt change - all at main dealer).
Any info is appreciated.

Friend of mine has one. I've been out in it a couple of times. Doesn't handle anything like as well as the Scoob. See if you can get one with the traction control modified, as the standard one doesn't seem to do very much. To sum it up, looks stunning, tons and tons and tons of power (like a space ship), just doesn't allways like putting it down on the road.

A friend of mine has one which has been toyed with and is an absolute dream.
Much faster than the scoob, more accelerative, 180+ mph [clock speed].
Beat my scoob round country lanes as he had so much power so although I could catch him on the bends once the road straightened out he was gone.
If you want to play the four wheel drive is better card, buy a skyline.
I've also seen scoobs beaten in a straight line by automatic Supras.
A Delta Integrale also tried it on against the Supra in Germany but couldn't catch us and after 150 it was out of breath.
The Supra bbs is quite good too. Sometimes.

Looked into these a few months back with a friend. He ended up buying a manual import, with lots of TRD goodies (body kit, spolier, Gauges, Clutch...). Its going for some real work in feb, Cams and bits with the aim of getting over 450bhp. Currently running at about 350bhp (Exhaust, Induction, De Cat and other bits) and is scary in the wet!

It depends what you look for in a car, but IMHO the standard Traction Control in useless. It needs Racelogic TC to keep it on the road. They are quick once moving but slow to warm up, my mates car will probably hit 185+ when he has had the done, standard ones will do 170, and they are certainly stable and still accelerating at 150+

Good cars but I'd prefer a skyline

supras are incredibly tunable with heaps of kit available in japan but on a twisty backcountry road i'd go for a skyline for power or an evo for driving pleasure

Think i will stick to my P1. Skyline's are torque monsters and only for ppl who aren't actually interested in learning to drive to a higher standard. Evo's are good but understeer much more than a Scooby and whine rather than growl. Twin turbo is fine as long as you know what the hell you are doing, if not, pick a hedge.

Twin turbo does look nice tho and is rare as hell. Bloke at work has non turbo so cowers when i go past him <evil grin>

what, and driving a P1 requires you to be a GOOD driver?...LMAO!
the scoobys ive had are the only cars ive ever had make me look good!
the gtr requires you to be a better driver than a scooby does.
i am a **** driver, thats why my gtr scares the crap out of me at times....the scooby was easy peasy

"Evo's are good but understeer much more than a Scooby"

Er, no. Maybe you meant oversteer. The Evo 7 is incredibly neutral compared to a Scooby - depends on diff settings.
